In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, the Chicagoland Hooters locations supported SocialWorks with a day of service on March 11. The Chicagoland Hooters Restaurants donated hygiene products, clothing, socks and additional items for SocialWorks community initiative “SocialThreads”. Several Chicagoland Hooters Restaurants Managers, Hooters Girls and corporate members helped organize the “SocialThreads” store and sort through the donations at the IL Dept. of Human Services in Chicago.

Chicagoland Hooters employees who volunteered include Andrea Hill (Regional Director of Operations), Lisa Allen (Regional Director of Operations), Michele Rodarte (Regional Training Coordinator), Stephanie Martinez (Marketing Manager), Jasmine Reames (General Manager Wells Street), Stephanie Fowler (General Manager Oak Lawn), Carrie Switak (General Manager Orland Park), Sara Cook (General Manager Schaumburg), Bianca Carter (Assistant Manager Wells Street) Eariel Jeffers (Assistant Manager Wells Street), Leslie Manson (Assistant Manager Oak Lawn), Melissa Matheus (Assistant Manager Downers Grove), Sloan Davis ( Hooters Girl Lansing) and Danielle Shawaluk (Hooters Girl Downers Grove).

SocialWorks is a non-profit organization founded by Chance the Rapper, dedicated to raising funds for social issues impacting Chicago's youth, such as education, homelessness, mental health support, and more. SocialThreads is a free clothing pantry designed to provide clothing to those in need in collaboration with Chicago’s Department of Family Support Services. The pantry offers a wide range of clothing items, toys, and hygiene essentials, ensuring everyone can access appropriate clothing for various occasions.

“Volunteering at Social Threads with my coworkers was a wonderful experience. Learning the origin of Social Threads and the community it helps made us feel more connected to the experience. We had great teamwork of sorting, hanging, and folding clothing, counting toiletry items, creating hygiene bags and stocking shelves. I hope to be able to volunteer at Social Threads in the future,” said HMC Hospitality Group Regional Training Coordinator Michele Rodarte.
